Scooby

Scooby is back from holiday. Learned free style, breast stroke, and butterfly style during it's stay in Segamat. It has grown very much since I last saw him. It's now 6 months old.

From (2 months old)....

To this (before saloon)....... then to...

This (after)... isn't it handsome??

Miss the cute cute Scooby. But now Scooby is much more obidient compare to last time. Would not urine and shit everywhere. Only do his business at certain places.

Anyone of you have an idea of where is the 'Venice of Malaysia' located??

Tek's 24th birthday

Koh Chin Tek, born on 18th January 1983 currently studying in UCSI... ok ok enough, I'm not writing an obituary.

Muahah...
Anyway, birthday celebration with all my housemates. Yee Yee, Jacy, Tek, Me n An Sheng.

These are the bunch of friends who I usually hang out with in UCSI.

Bet, you must be wondering what is written on the cake. Have a closer look at the overweight Ultraman, isn't it adorable??

One of my housemate did not turn up for the party,..... it is the one and only.. Scooby (Garfield wanna be). Scooby is HYPERACTIVE, but wonder why it's OVERWEIGHT. Even after undergoing several weeks of swimming in Segamat, Johor. But on the bright side Scooby is now a qualified swimmer cum actor. Scooby will be appearing in the movie, "Flooding of Segamat".

Right after the celebration, went up to a small hill in Cheras to enjoy the night view of KL, if you had watched the "Sinking of Japan", this scene is sooooo similar to the movie. The "Burning of KL". (Do have a closer view at KLCC, it seems like it's on fire. Thick smoke coming out from the 70th floor.)
"Sinking of Japan"

TGI Fridays

Hear of that place for quite some time, finally was able to dine there.
Similiar to Chillis, Outback, Tony Roma, The Ship it is an American bar & restaurant. It's much much better than The Ship.
A 3 course meal cost RM 39.90 consist of appetizer, entree, dessert.

Our Appetizer, "TGI Fridays Mushrooms & Buffalo Wings"

Entree, "Fried Chicken"

Entree, "Chicken Pasta"

Dessert, "Cheese Cake"

Eyes on Malaysia.

I am sure most of you may heard of it, since it was highly promoted in the Visit Malaysia 2007 tour. Celebrating Malaysia 50th Independence.

Fireworks performance will be held everynight for the entire month of Jan 2007 to mark the beginning of the celebration. Below are some sample photos...

For those who are in PENANG, JOHOR and etc etc, what are you waiting for ??? This is a very very good excuse to come to KL this month.

Digital Mall

It started when I was told that there will be a RM 1 for a Canon Ip1200 for sale, as my Epson C59 which I bought exactly 2 weeks ago has not function. I wonder what was the purpose of buying it at the first place. A reminder to ALL, think at least 5 times before purchasing an EPSON printer.

Before the day started, I was awoke by my dear neighbour (next door) early this morning by his early idiotic floor wash, AT 6AM. Curse him !! It made me ponder for a minute who on earth would do so before dawn? I walked up to the window and have a glance at him, indirectly "hint' him that he annoyed me. Immediatly he stop what ever he is doing and went back into his house. So went back to bed to continue my sleep.... I was again awoke by my dear nieghbour(opposite house) as his car was towed away [thank god]. From a wild guess, I presumed that he must had not been paying his car instalment for quite some time.... Good for him, now he has less car to take care off as he always has trouble "parking' his car.

Headed to Digital Mall for their grand opening. It was crowded, due to my suprise many people lined up to enter the building. They are not getting any thing for entering the building first, let me extrapolate it....... I think the que was at least 500m long. TOOO bad they missed the lion & dragon dance. The place was tooooo crowded until the dragon does not have enough space to performed it's dance gracefully. VIP's attended were, Deputy Tourism Minister, Dato' Donald Lim, Kenny B and another 2 more unidentified HK atrist.... If you know who he is do drop a message and identified him. Thank u.

The fun starts was when they allowed people to enter the building, people rushed into as if everything is FOC. Security guards shouted "Stop pushing.. stop pushing.. people might get hurt.. EVERYONE STEP BACK !!!...Securtity A and B, SHUT all the entrance NOW!.." The situation was decribed as if a riot was about to happen. After several minutes, guards gave up and open the entrance for public. As they said "Customers are always right". During the commotion, we managed to squeeze in. The interior decoration can be described as a replica of low yat.

After going through all those hassle, I left the building empty handed.

Christmas

Went to Tony Roma at Sunway, the ribs was so nice with I could had another piece of that. Tasted something like "char siew". Beside that had chicken and beef sandwich. The dinner was good. Might be going there again if I have extra money. In the middle of the dinner I over heard some conversation that today is Kenny's birthday. Happy Birthday Kenny !!! You are two days older than me. Muahahha.
After dinner, thought when I thought we are going to leave suddenly had a cake appear. A fruit cake. Different from the normal fruit cake that we bought from shops. Thank you, kenny, lch, kjz, jiabao, ivy, and pei chen. Btw pei chen's speak a very fluent n fast mandarin. faster than my chinese housemate.

While on my way to the carpark, received a call from my housemates asking for yum cha at Station 1. So went there, half way through the yum cha session and out of my expectation, the waiter took out a cake. A yam cake, kinda different from the traditional cake I had. Thank you, tek, dan, chek n jacy.

On top of that, my internship will be ending soon. Would miss my colleagues in United Perundings, they had taugh me a lot for the past two months. Enjoyed the duration there may be because was accompanied by liew and kok. They accompanied me for lunch almost everyday and would always have short breaks now and then to share a joke or two.

Christmas is just around the corner, so much celebration in such a short period. Before I forget, congratulations Aly & Rey on their wedding last weekend. The wedding reception was fun and it showed that Malaysian can live in a multiculture society. Aly is my cousin bro, father is chinese and mother is a malay, Rey is Aly's wife, Rey's father is a malay and mother is a chinese. So the wedding was seperated to several parts and of course Islam would be the their religion and the wedding was performed according to the Islamic way. After the official ceremony, the chinese "tea" ceremony begins. Tea ceremony is a chinese culture something like introducing the new family members and giving blessings to them. It the first time I witness such unique wedding. I guess I will futher elaborate the wedding in the next blog.......

I am so happy till I write this blog at 2.10am in the morning. Better take a rest now. Will be going to work later. Thank you all again for all the fun and laughter.

Weekend

As the same as most of you, I loves weekends. Since I started my internship I am dying to have a long weekend break. Had a very memorable and tiring weekend, well I will start from Saturday, went to a condo in Bukit Tunku(Kin Yan's relative) with Kin Yan and Ling Siong, played table tennis, squash, swimming followed by steam bath. Muahahha it reminds me of my secondary days where I used to visit ISC every weekend.

Sunday, went to Taman Pertanian with Kin Yan and his friends, at Shah Alam. It is a very huge park where usually visitors will cycle around the park for hours, If you don't like to cycle, you can always take the coach or walk. Cycling, however, is my recommended mode of transportation. The park is quite huge and with so many slopes, it can be quite tiring for the average exercise challenged like me. But it was the slopes which also provided the best part of the ride. The wind blowing in your hair when you are going downhill at top speed is one of the most incredible experiences.

We started our cycle at 8.55am, cycle around the park there are two places that is worth visiting. The four season house, where they will change the environment of the room acoording to season in the north. It's about to be winter so the room has been changed into a snow house. There are real snow flakes all over and the temperature is from -2 to -7 celcius, it's very much better than the Snow House in Mines Wonderland. We are all sweaty and rushed into the snow house.... we were froze there. Ice flakes Muahaha, one of Kin Yan's friend have the desire to drink Coke in the snow house. He described it as one of the wonders of the world, but too bad his dream did not came through.

The second part was the Sapu Tangan Watch Tower. I found it to be the most challenging destination in the entire park. It kinda reminds me of the Mount Kinabalu trip I went several years ago, we got to give encouragement to each other to keep walking. If you happen to go there, don't miss this place.

At 1.55pm we ended our holiday in park, we rush to the car and grab anything we can eat and munch on it. We were starving, did not had anything since breakfast. We head to Klang for bak kut teh, it is a bit different from the one I normally had. There are so many bak kut teh in that 2 rows of shop, but it's strange as most of it is fully occupied.

After that, went to TGV to watch Happy Feet. Was embarassed by the ticket attendent, he said " All four of you still watch cartoon?" Sigh....

Weekend passed very quickly, and tomorrow is Monday hopefully I would not felt sleepy in office.

BETNET(Malaysia) 2006

It was my pleasure be one of the student helper representing UCSI in this conference. It may sounds like a lot of things to do, but in actual fact student helpers are only needed on the first day of the event where participant, speaker register themself. So indirectly student helpers benefits from it as we would be able to listen to the conference for FREE. Btw, each participant will have to pay RM 900 to attend.

Beside 'attending' the conference, it was a reunion meeting for me, Tiew Hui, Zhan Liu and Chia Kuang came as a helper as well representing UNITEN. When there is tea breaks, we would be sitting together catching up with old times.

I was dissapointed with some of the student helpers, as they were given the opportunity to attend the conference for free, they would not even bother to listen to it. Their purpose in the conference were just to indulge in the hotel breakfast, tea breaks, lunch breaks and the banquet dinner.
