Round up

I need people good in math to help me with this difficult rounding up.
$ 1.607 to $ 1.61 sound reasonable?
How about $ 1.607 to $ 1.7 does not make much difference?
And this $ 1.606 billion to $ 1.7 billion.
Rounding up figure of just $ 0.93 billion. Still sound reasonable?
Well read it another way, $ 93 million.
And another way $ 93 000 thousand.
Let just read da figures only $ 93 000 000.

Our beloved PM just said it's a mistake and lets us forget about it.
He added "We will decide later on to negotiate for the purchase of the helicopter -- when we feel it is time to do that and we feel we have money to do that -- we see what the price will be"
What is he trying to inform us? He wanna to show everyone the nicer "round up" price?

Our beloved DPM also said opposition is making too much issue out of it.

Well, read all about it the best rounding up figure on earth.

route to work

Notice anything strange in the pic?

Yeah, you might spotted it, there is a bench in the middle. This is a sidewalk for people to walk and cars are pilling on both sides on it. May be because there are very limited car park around town.

Walk for several minutes I bump in to these strange "feng shui" rock on the path. hmmm wonder what they are there for. May be drop down from MARS.

Walk again watch a building being demolished. Boom... boom...

still in progress.... boom... boom...

Voila !! Mission accomplish!

Hahahahaha

KL - Berlin - Paris

Bonjour Bonjour Bonjour,

1st time travelled so far away from home, about 10400km was indeed a very good experience.

Was suppose to be KL - Amsterdam - Paris. Where I used to joke that my boss kick me back to Holland.

Well did not have a very good start, the flight from KL was delayed for about 2 hours. No sweat, just a minor set back.
Got into the plane and sat down, request for a asile seat but got a window seat instead, no sweat as well.

Bon voyage M'sia..

It's like a mini restaurant in the plane.
1st they serve appertizer, which is of course peanuts with free flow of drinks.
Air hostess : What do you want to drink sir?
Iko : Hmmmmm red wine pls.
AH : How old are you sir?
Iko : 25
AH : I'm afraid I need to see your ID.
IKO : @#$%^&@#$%^&, here you are. #$%^&*@#$%^&*
AH : Here you are, enjoy your drink. #$%^&*
IKO : Thanks @#$%^&*

Drink drink drink and quickly go to sleep.
An hour later, serve soup pula. at 3am in the morning. I pass..
Continue my sleep... hehehehe

Woke up dunno what time, saw the sunrise for hours.
The sun like can't get out of bed, always hide under the clouds. The scenery was breathtaking.

From up there, you can see the many many shapes of the clouds.
Some looks as hard as rock, some looks as soft as cotton.

Hungry Hungry... skipped the earlier soup now waiting for breakfast. hehehehehe
Half an hour later breakfast is serve, "traditional dutch breakfast" -Mini french loaf, yogurt, sausages, brocolli, omellete. Which is kinda nice.

Shortly after that we arrived in Berlin, Germany supposingly for a short detour, due to some unexpected reasons. After several hours there, we felt hungry and thisty, took 15 euro voucher from the airlines and went for a brunch.

Waited for another couple of hours finally board the plane and departed to Paris.

Sounds nice right? It's the flight to be remembered.
1) The 747-400 can fly with only 3 engines :)
2) The A321 can fly while the engine is on fire :)

Working or Acting?

When did the Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop became the Second Finance Minister??
Yesterday or the day before?
Well he held the position since 2004.
4 years down the road and now only he instructed all government agencies to reduce frills when organising official functions to cut cost and prevent wastage.

He said
"
It is a moral thing. At a time when everybody is affected by price
increases, government agencies should also take heed of the situation by not
organising events on a big scale because this might lead to wastage. Government
agencies should not hold events at five-star hotels, which is quite unnecessary
and very costly. It is suffice to conduct events in a moderate manner but
produce fruitful results. We should start saving money so that we can use the
excess to help the rakyat
"
And also Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had said that
"
the mid-term review of the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP), would give
priority to projects that benefited the people
"
Since when the rakyat became so important to them? Aren't they suppose to be working to benefit the rakyat from day one rather than by just start to think of rakyat now. I am sure that this is not the first time events were held in luxuries places. So why remind them now? I should had been done long time ago, maybe I presume as soon as he was elected as the Second Finance Minister. Ok la, give him 1 year to adapt to the ministry. At least he should had voiced it out since 2005.
Anyway FYI the 9MP was announced on 31 March 2006.
Giving prioroty to projects that benefited people???
So when the projects started it was not benefiting people I guess. Who was it benefiting then? So was the rakyat in the 9MP from the beginning? Or was they left out in the discussion and suddenly they realised that rakyat was not in the 9MP. Strange ya suddenly every MP cares about rakyat.

KL-Ipoh Commuter Train Service Delayed, To Begin Only In 2010

Sigh,

Another failure project.

The project started in 2001 which cost RM4.3 billion just to built the double rail track from Rawang-Ipoh.

It was reported that 98% of the project has been completed and contractors are now in the final phase of testing the electricity cables.

The delay is because of the approval to buy new trains was only given recently, it would take at least another two years for the trains to arrive. It is expected that the six new electric trains cost RM150 million, with each train having six coaches.

WTF, 7 years to built the rail track..
At 98% project completion only approve the purchase of new trains.
Where did the project management went too all these years?
They can order the train 2 years earlier.

Engineers of poor quality

Well, it was in the newspaper saying that Engineers of poor quality.

Sad to say but I have to agree with what they said.
Universities does not work together with industrial as well as BEM or IEM.
For example Electrical & Electronics student cannot even apply as an Electrical with BEM/IEM.

Why is that so?
I believe that universities merely offer course which they think relevant to them and not to industrial which as mention suits the point mention by SHYAM LAKSHMANAN.

Anyway it is nice to know that many other universities starts to invites professionals from the industry to review their curriculum and suggest areas for improvement. But then after the discussion was there any action taken to made any improvement? You may have dozen of discussion and activities but end of the day, if nothing is done it would be back to square 1.

Drink Water From Tap?

When I first heard about it from my friends several years back, but was thinking that it is rather strange if M'sia would someday drink water from tap.

I am sure even after installing several water filters in your house, you would still boil the water before you drink. This method had been passed down from generations to generations and is still being used through M'sia.
How clean would the tap water be? Can it possibily happen in M'sia?

Mr Ho's Fine Food

It was strange to receive sms from lch at 3am on Sunday for a lunch appointment at Mr Ho's Fine Food for sausages feast... I was awake by the sms, and didn't bother to reply till I woke up later in the morning.

Before I continue further, would like to apologize any inconvenience caused.
At 12pm, I was informed that the lunch appointment was postpone to dinner because of some unavoidable circumstances. Which indirectly extended PChen n Ivy's shopping period where by they started to wonder around Mid-Valley since 2pm.

Well to cut the long story short, we had a simple pork knuckles at Mr Ho's Fine Food. I seldom eat pork knuckles, but the one they served taste reasonable. The dish was served together with pork chop, bacon's n sausages .... photos will be attached soon.... Btw Stephy should be attending the dinner too, as she is a die hard PORK lover. She enjoys food that is served with pork.

After the dinner, I was a bit suprise to realise that the occasion was to celebrate Kenny's n my birthday. It was very much earlier than the actual date, as many of them will not be available during the holiday season. Year end holiday. Hehe. Don't forget to buy back some souvenir's ya !!

Thank you lch, pchen, ivy, and doris n kenny for celebration ya.

FYI, Kenny is two days older than me.

Weekend

It was the soft opening of the GSC, Pavillion, they are giving free movie tickets.

The most important would be to have a bunch of crazy friends to make it possible.

Watching movies back to back. The first movie at 5.05pm, second at 7.10pm, and lastly at 9.15pm. Luckly we manage to grab a quick snaks from the food court before we proceed to the next movie.

ELLA WHEELER WILCOX

One ship drives east and another drives west,
With the same winds that blow.
Tis the set of sails,
And not the gales,
That tells us the way to go.
Like the winds of the seas are the ways of fate.
As we vogaye along through life,
Tis set of a soul,
That decides its goal,
And not the calm, or the strife.

Day 1, Khmer Lunch

Welcome to the Kingdom of Cambodia..
Things to check when you reach the airport...
1) passport
2) usd
3) friends (they have more item no 2 than me)

Our first agenda would be having a Khemer lunch, which is quite similiar to the food we had in Malaysia.

Look at those hungry fellows... rushing their way to the restaurant.

Our first meal in Cambodia.
Vege?
Fish in Coconut

Popiah Salad

Yong Tomato
Tomatoes looks so cute, but you know ... one of us finished all 3 tomatoes. The rest of us was just able to get a sight of it only. Sigh....
