Proton net loss of RM 591.3 million

The national carmaker posted a net loss of RM913,000 in the quarter to March 31 2007, its fourth straight quarterly loss. This brings its full-year results to a net loss of RM591.3 million.

Besides the German carmaker, General Motors Corp had in the past expressed interest along with Peugeot to work with Proton.

When both the car manufacturers pulled out, Volkswagen became the forerunner.

Volkswagen has dropped out of talks to become its equity partner.

Managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Syed Mohamed blamed the slump on lower sales and other factors like one-off expenses and provisions.

Eh, ehhhh....
How can they blame on the lower sales?

If lets say you are selling "pisang goreng" at RM 1.00 for 6 pieces, someone nearby your stall is selling at RM 1.00 for 5 pieces, but yours looks ugly, taste bad, not fresh, your service is slow and you show BIG boss attitude to your customer.

So do you blame you customer for not buying your "pisang goreng" ???
Or you can blame it on your competitor for giving better service and making better "pisang goreng" than yours.

Now just scrap away proton so that I can buy my Rx8 at price lower than 200k.

Besides the quality that they provided, they are stubborn too. They always demand resources from others, Volkswagen, GM, or even Mitsubishi, but they never want to give out their share, their position, etc.

if I;m a business man, I'll not accept that, I paid, and you spend for loss.

yeah !!!
always rely on the govt for help.
even partnership also use govt's reputation.

who dares to talk bad about proton and ask them to change for the better.

Lotus was a victim of it..
What happen to Lotus?
Since they bought over in 1996, not much new models or great engineering came out of it anymore.
